The magic continued for the Seattle Kraken on the road in Pittsburgh on Saturday night, with Brandon Tanev scoring the game winner against the Penguins with 3:39 remaining in the third period, Although outshot 37-28, Seattle blocked more shots, delivered 35 hits, and closed out a three-game sweep of their road trip.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have lost seven games in a row.
With the Edmonton Oilers 6-2 loss at home on Saturday afternoon, the Kraken moved into sole possession of 2nd place in the Pacific Division with a record of 7-4-and-2 and 16 points. Seattle is four points behind the Vegas Golden Knights who beat the Montreal Canadiens 6-2.

Gourde wins an offensive zone draw in the left wing circle and Dunn steps into one to tie the game.

A nice bounce off Tanev’s shin pad ends up to Gourde who makes no mistake in close.

Tanev buries one from the slot to give Seattle the win.

Yeah that’s right, the Dunn 1st-period goal assisted by Gourde and the 2nd-period goal scored by Gourde both occurred at 7:48 of their respective periods. OK, that’s just weird.
The Seattle penalty kill has now killed off eleven straight opponent power plays dating back to a week ago Saturday.
Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play.
