The Seattle Kraken have moved on from assistant coach Dave Lowry and goaltending coach Steve Briere.
“As Lane Lambert evaluates the coaching staff, we’ve made the decision to relieve assistant coach Dave Lowry and goaltending coach Steve Briere of their duties,” Seattle general manager Jason Botterill said in a brief media statement. “We appreciate all their hard work and dedication to the Kraken and wish them luck on their future endeavors.”
One of the two carry-overs from the bench staff is assistant coach Jessica Campbell. Among other duties, she ran the 23rd-best power play in the NHL, clicking at just 18.9% last season. She’s the first female assistant coach in NHL history.
Assistant Bob Woods, who worked with the defense in his first season in Seattle, also remains.
The market for assistants is getting thinner, with the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, and Toronto Maple Leafs all announcing coaching additions over the last few days.
