Five Kraken and five Capitals players all went to the penalty box at the same time on Sunday.
In a rare officiating move, referees Kelly Sutherland and Morgan MacPhee sent all ten skaters to the penalty box at 6:28 of the 3rd period after a major scrum erupted in the right wing corner near Kraken goalie Joey Daccord.
Maybe more unusual was that none of the face washes or head locks turned into a fight. That might just be more a sign of the times. No major penalties were given.
Seattle players Tye Kartye, Michael Eyssimont, Brandon Montour and John Hayden all received roughing minors, as did Washington’s Tom Wilson, Pierre-Luc Dubois, John Carlson, Trevor van Riemsdyk, and Brandon Duhaime.
Seattle D-man Josh Mahura went to the box for holding instead of roughing, while Duhaime picked up an extra roughing penalty during the melee to give Seattle a power play. The Kraken failed to take advantage.
One player aside, Hayden and Duhaime, also earned 10-minute misconduct.
Photos and videos of the “ten men in the box” made for entertaining headlines and visuals literally around the world.

Washington went on to score two goals late, including an empty-netter for Alexander Ovechkin, and the Eastern Conference leading Capitals won the game 4-2.
