Kraken 2/3rds To Goal, Half Way To Dream Trip

Kraken Roadie

They’re resilient. The Kraken bounced back to .500 on the season with their second consecutive victory to start a four-game road trip. They overwhelmed the unpredictable New York Islanders 5-2 on Thursday night by starting strong.

“The results (came) with the fourth shift getting the goal, but the first three shifts were equally as good, just setting the pace,” Kraken head coach Dan Bylsma said about the first period.

Tye Kartye opened the scoring for Seattle at the 2:48 mark, en route to a 4-0 lead by the end of the 2nd period. They pretty much duplicated their strong start from Tuesday in Raleigh against the Hurricanes. The Kraken scored just 19-seconds into their 4-2 win over Carolina.

In the victory on Long Island, Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn tallied a goal and 2 assists in his third game back since missing a month-and-a-half to injury.

“With the team playing so well, it just makes things so much easier for me, bounces are going my way and I’m very grateful for that,” Dunn said postgame.

The Kraken are one win away from reaching three wins on this roadie … a potential 3-and-1 record that would be admirable, and at this stage of the season, given their record, necessary.

Four wins: Would be a dream trip.

It gets tougher. Seattle finishes a back-to-back set on Friday evening in New Jersey against the high flying Devils. They wrap up the trip on Sunday at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers.
