Seattle Kraken celebrate

Kraken Trounce Canadiens; Money Players Light It Up

Kraken Win Road Trip Opener

Seattle’s big summer investments paid off on Tuesday night in Montreal with defenseman Brandon Montour and forward Chandler Stephenson both tallying four points in Seattle’s 8-2 win over the Canadiens.

Montour’s performance included his first career hat trick, a natural one – three consecutive goals from the same player – that unfolded in the 2nd period and well into the third. His first goal at 1:32 of the 2nd period and his final one at 14:12 of the 3rd came on the Kraken power play, a unit that went 3-for-6.

Meanwhile, the Seattle penalty kill held the Habs to an 0-for-4 night on their man advantage.

Stephenson’s four points all came on assists. The first one helped open the scoring just :25-seconds into the game on a goal from big D-man Jamie Oleksiak.

From there the rout was on with the Kraken taking a 4-0 lead by the 10:33 mark of the 1st period.

Joey Daccord picked up the win in net. He’s 4-1-and-1 as the starter so far this season.

Seattle visits Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs on Halloween.
