Kraken Affiliate Firebirds Lose Pivotal Game-5

The Seattle Kraken’s American Hockey League affiliate Coachella Valley Firebirds lost Game-5 of the Calder Cup final 3-2 on Saturday night and will head to Hershey, Pennsylvania to try and stay alive in the series on Monday night.

The Bears won back-to-back, one-goal games on the road to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. This time out it was Jimmy Huntington getting the game winner at 16:45 of the 3rd period with his 5th goal of the playoffs. Hershey had tied the game eight minutes earlier, after Kraken prospect Ryan Winterton gave the Firebirds a 2-1 lead at 4:43 of the 3rd.

Coachella goalie Chris Driedger made 17 saves in the loss.
