Kraken All-Star Postgame
It was a tough come-from-ahead 4-3 loss for Team Nathan MacKinnon and Seattle Kraken winger Oliver Bjorkstrand, but the humble Dane, one of the best players on the ice in Game-1 quite frankly, was excited about the whole experience.
“For me I just think it’s special to be able to play with all the great players like (Sidney) Crosby and MacKinnon and all those guys, so being out there with them is fun,” ‘Ollie’ said. “Again, just being able to have this chance is a big honor for me.”
Bjorkstrand had two breakaways on one shift, hitting the post on the first chance and lighting the lamp on the second one. His goal gave Team MacKinnon a 2-1 lead with just four minutes remaining in the game. After MacKinnon scored on a breakaway with 3:45 to play, it appeared the Kraken all-star would be moving on with his teammates. Unfortunately for them, Connor McDavid and his team came back late to win it in a shoot-out.
Bjorkstrand played well at both ends of the ice, actually breaking up a handful of opposing scoring chances and rushes.
He talks about his goal, a near miss on a 2-on-0 with Flyers forward Travis Konecny when the puck hopped on Ollie, and then the whole experience in general. Here’s the whole 1-on-1 postgame:
