There were 12 goals scored before the midway point of the hockey game. That pretty much sums up the Seattle Kraken’s 9-8 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Kings. It was a coach’s nightmare, but ultimately it was another win for the Kraken on the road, their six straight and their sixth straight victory overall.
It’s the second consecutive perfect three-game road trip for the Kraken, this time with wins over the Vegas Golden Knights, Anaheim Ducks, and now the Kings. It’s the third time Seattle has beaten Los Angeles this season and moves the Kraken three points ahead of LA for 2nd place in the Pacific Division with three games in hand.
Seattle moved to within four points of first place Vegas with three games in hand on the Golden Knights as well.
The Kraken host the Washington Capitals on Thursday. The Cap’s beat the Canucks Tuesday night 5-1 with Alexander Ovechkin scoring twice, passing Wayne Gretzky for the most career NHL road goals, 403, and moving to 793 career goals overall, eight short of Gordie Howe for 2nd most all-time.
